Speeches
Room 7 are amazing speakers.
Two of our wonderful students came first and second in our school speech competition.
Chris Pan came first, with his speech entitled "Numerals." From his speech, we learned so much about the Roman, Egyptian and Mayan number systems.
Sara Bouladam was second with her speech on Endangered Animals, and at the end she connected it to endangered animals in New Zealand.
2017 Room 7 Starting of our new term and reviewing the year so far.
Camp
Last term our class went on two camps.
The Year 6's went to Camp Bentzon, which is on Kawau Island.
They all had a fantastic time, yachting, kayaking, orienteering, on the confidence course, however their favourite was archery.
Our Year 5's went to Camp Morley, which is in Clark's Beach.
We had a great time, especially at the Wero Water where we went white water rafting!
The instructors trained us first, and we had to wear a helmet and life jacket to ensure we were safe.
Wero water was a fantastic experience.
Try it!

Descriptive Paragraph Writing.
My Guitar
by Jakob Piotrowski
My guitar is dark tan in colour. It has strings wound with
elegant copper, each attached to a dark plastic strip on the body. At the other
end a silver tuning key turned by what looks polished ivory knobs and newly
replaced gears, twisting and turning to tune it. The extremely long neck and
body are fingerprinted from carrying around and moving.
Craters, like dents in my fingers, are created by pressing
on the strings to make beautiful music. Resting against the wall, it stands
majestically and magically. It really is my treasure.
Room 7 and Buddy Maths
Every day at 9 o'clock, Room 7 is invaded by 29 Year 2 students who come to learn maths from their buddy. Room 7 buddies teach the year 2s counting forwards, counting backwards, what is 1 more than, what is 1 less than, doubles, halves and counting on from the biggest number. This is the second group we have had this year. Many Year 2s have graduated!
Another amazing piece of
descriptive paragraph writing.
This time the author is Renzo Cawley
The Pencil
The pencil sits upon the rough desk waiting to be used. Its old body starting to look like craters of the moon. Its distinctive cut side proudly has its owners name written on the gritty wood. Scratches cover the pencil, showing the many fingers that have touched it. The end of the pencil exposes the shiny black lead. Red and black encases it like plaster. Excitement fills it with possibility when picked up to use.
